The project involved 13 students in the 2nd year worked together through process step by step from data collecting, interviewing the owners and surveying the site. Through the process of interviewing, we learn to understand the real needs of the owners: their love to be among of family members, yearning for the peacefulness of the countryside and their love and care for their elderly.

Begin with interviewing the owners to understand the basic requirements for their holiday home and visiting their house in the city to understand their dairy life in the space that they familiar with. Because, the main purpose of this house is to be the place where large family comes to join and spends time together pleasantly, accessibility is needed to provide for their elderly as well, so universal design has been

applied into the design. As a weekend or summer house, hideaway feeling is essential. Analyzing the site, listen and delicate to what had experienced, deep understanding the site enhanced us to focus the strong point of the site and to clearly imagine about where it should be built and how it should be look like. In the design process, each of us developed a design scheme advising from professional architects and teachers.

The clients had chosen 4 from 13 schemes to be developed further as a final design and construction process. We strongly believe that our design provided wide range of use from the young to the elderly, hopefully that it would satisfy and enrich the relationship of all the generation in the family as a hideaway home.
